We currently are overrun with a whole bunch of donated used books from former facilty, staff, and alumni.  The books are generally about art therapy, psychology, self-help, art and art history, and there are some biographies.  There are also copies of the Art Therapy journal for sale.  They will all be for sale in the hallway outside the art therapy office, 163 in the Community Arts building.  They will be available October 5th through the 8th.

The office hours for the week of Oct 5th will be slightly different due to professional development opportunities. The hours will be the following:
Monday Oct 5th Noon to 5pm
Tuesday Oct 6th Noon to 5pm
Wednesday Oct 7th 11am to 4pm
Thursday Oct 8th 2pm to 5pm
Please note this is only for the following week.

Please stop by and take a look at the books and help the art therapy department out by purchasing a few.  We will also be having a book sale in the winter semester so we will also be accepting book donations.

Possible Ceramic Contact?

Alison here in the art therapy office, I have had a few requests for possible contacts for a ceramic artist of a ceramic facility. What is mainly being sought out is possibly a facility that would allow student or client work to be brought in, glazed and fired.  I am pretty sure some kind of arrangement could be made for being able to use the facilities.  I am also looking though to get updated information of possible places that might have ceramic kiln access or maybe even other ceramic artists that may know other artists or facilities.
If anyone has any information for us, please respond here or email the office at arted_arttherapy@wayne.edu

Hello everybody!

Welcome to our new WSU Art therapy blog for current students and alumni!

This is a space that is meant for sharing any relevant art therapy-related information with your fellow classmates and alumni. Ideally, this will be a tool to help all of us stay better connect as well as furthering networking opportunities. So, go ahead! Post any information about job openings, workshop opportunities, current artwork, etc.

As there is the first time that we have used this specific site, there may be a few weird kinks that need to be sorted out at first. If you have any trouble with any aspect of posting or viewing anything on this site please let us know so that we can make this run as smoothly as possible. If you are a current student or alumni of the program, you should have received an invitation to join the blog and create your own posts. Blogger requires a gmail account to be able to sign in, so if you don't already have one, you will have to create an account before you are able to start posting. The blog will be open to anbyody for viewing and commenting purposes.

Thank you, and I look forward to reading all of your posts,
